From Situationism to Beat to Punk, ‘Eyes For Blowing Up Bridges‘ brings together the work of radical artists, poets, writers and activists who initiated, perpetrated and influenced post-war alternative movements – and collectively provided pop impresario, Malcolm McLaren with material to enable him to look like a “gigantic poseur”. To quote Hari Kunzru, “these [films,] posters and magazines are just detritus, the record of past struggles. In the present day, the real action is elsewhere”.
‘Eyes for blowing up bridges: joining the dots from the Situationist International to Malcolm McLaren’, is curated by David Thorp and Paul Gorman.
